The challenge is how to deal with information overload and multiple communications channels. Social media is just another set of tools.
Correction: 11% of the market KNOWS they’re using RSS. RSS is EVERYWHERE, and whether you know it or not, if you’re reading online content, or getting it delivered to you by email, etc., RSS is probably involved.
