It’s a great cautionary tale. Although the woman sacked for writing anonymously as petite anglaise has since been vindicated by an employment tribunal, she knows she’s unlikely to be considered an attractive candidate in future. At least MySpace wasn’t around when she was a teenager… Blogger beware.

We discussed the topic of MySpace etc re job searches at a recent CIPR Diploma session and more than one student said they were going straight home to remove some less than flattering “Saturday-night” images.
I’m not sure most HR departments go to that much trouble to check people out, indeed, do all even pick up references? But better to be on the safe side…
