I’d thought this was a heroic start. I’d let my neighbours’ geese out at 6am (in North Yorkshire) and had reached my first meeting in London by 10am.
But this aftenoon I visited a student – yes student – who reaches her desk in the City at 7.30am. Impressive.
(No chance encounters, no champagne; so I’m back to using GNER WiFi.)
You must be on an earlier train. I’m on the 19:03 and just left Peterborough. Simon Collister is also on-board, although we don’t have seats together.
I suspect Simon (or GREEN PR) don’t know the secret of cheap first class tickets – book your journey in two halves. Wakefield to Peterborough for £23.60 – first class so free coffee, biccies and wi-fi.
OMG!!! That’s the trick. That top tip is going straight into company policy. I presume you have to move after P’boro?
Sorry I didn’t sneak back into First Class to find you Stuart. I eventually got settled in cattle-class and read.
And I thought the early rise to make the daily commute from Sheffield to Leeds was difficult!
I’ll second that Katy! My Clio doesn’t have Wi-Fi for those boring traffic jams either!
