Stephen Davies, the cover boy on the new issue of Behind the Spin magazine, has a fascinating tale.
He started his blog just one year ago. He’s now the top search result in Google globally for what is a very common name in the anglo-saxon world. This is impressive. Very impressive.
Better still (he writes), as a result of running my own blog, the San Francisco vice president of Lewis PR has suggested a job is waiting for me at their London office when I graduate. That’s still a few months away but I have already completed my university work placement at the same consultancy.
It’s a dramatic success story. But things tend to look easy in hindsight. Stephen’s an innovator, and he’s worked very hard too. ("On average, I write two blog posts per day.") Innovation and hard work. That’s the true secret of his success.
Thanks Richard,
Although recent uni deadlines have made those ‘two blog posts per day’ a distant memory. 🙂
Not long now though…
Hah! Feeling a little intrigued by the Google search query results I’ve found that you’re number one for the search terms ‘PR studies’ and ‘PR student UK’
I’m number three and four for ‘PR students’ and ‘PR student’ respectively. Both above the CIPR.
I’m just glad that my name has an extra ‘L’.
Otherwise I’d be locked in a Google death match with the 1980’s pop sensation – Paul Young.
I’m sure it would be extremely difficult to make him a Google ‘yesterday’s hero’ ;-).
I followed some of this stuff up today.
It’s interesting Richard, but you are now the third Google result for the search term ‘Sports PR Australia’, from a previous post where you mention me.
