The book’s out this month. It’s a big (672 pages) collaborative effort edited by my colleagues Ralph Tench and Liz Yeomans and including many contributions from inside and beyond the teaching team at this university.
Having been challenged on Friday to explain why we don’t teach ‘media’, I should say that my chosen chapter was on ‘media relations’. It’s a subject I’ve plenty of experience in – but the media’s ever-changing and there are public relations roles that don’t involve any media relations at all. The media’s less about the press and it increasingly includes what I call ‘me media’.
So, a book, not about relationships and relationship management or even the ‘long conversation’. A ‘must read’ for the folk on the other side of the ‘blue water’ corridor in Marketing (my views are known).
I see the rise and fall The Levellers. We will evolve fast.
