The lucrative early-adopter and metropolitan markets have already been converted, leaving the less valuable and more expensive remote rural exchanges still be be upgraded. I know; I live in one such area.

Yet BT is about to rekindle the optimism surrounding ‘broadband Britain’ with the commitment to deliver a universal ADSL service by summer 2005. Media Guardian covers this announcement.
