I’m about to broaden my experience by visiting a number of students on placements in large UK consultancies. So I should keep my counsel for now.
But here are some hints. I left a medium-sized consultancy just as it was about to become part of a global brand. I later left a small, specialist consultancy before it was bought by a large generalist. I spent ten years working independently, but felt I suffered from the lack of a brand identity and also noted the downward trend in fees paid to experienced freelances.
